Such a beautiful day!
Man o man, is it one of the best days to live in San Diego. The sun is shining and it's warm. Ah, I bet my friends on the East Coast are hating us today. SO I was thinking of some of my favorite sunny day songs, here is a list of some that I am really digging.
Cee-lo "Gettin' Grown"
Atmosphere - "Sunshine"
Justin Timeberlake - "Summer Love"
Lily Allen - "LDN"
Talib Kweli - "I Try"
Jack Johnson - "Inaudible Melodies"
Erykah BAdu "Back in the Day"
Lupe Fiasco - "Daydreamin'"
All these songs make me smile as I feel the warm sun warming me up from the inside out. I am so ready for summer. I do love the colder months, but after this taste of warmth today, I am ready. The weather has been to inconsistent to start warming up the pool, but when it's time, I'll be so excited.

So I have been doing a ton of Bible reading. Right now I am in 1 Samuel and it's such a great book. I am now excited to pick up and read everyday. The first parts of the Old Testament are really hard to get through. The almost 300 laws God has to lay down on Moses is enough to make your eyes droop just a bit. Recently I have been really meditating on a verse:
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a pirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." It just makes me realize what He made us for. God made us to be super loving, to be powerful through Him and to be able to hold back. It makes me feel great, because I have been holding back with many thing recently. The desire to smoke is almost completely gone. Along with that, I am over drinking a lot as well. Smoking and drinking for me have gone hand and hand, without one, I don't really crave the other.
The one huge thing I get from this verse is that God did not make us to be these timid and scared people. I am not scared anymore to tell other what I believe and how awesome the Lord really makes me feel. I love it! I feel better the more I let Him in.

My 31st year of life is coming upon me. I am looking forward to my 30s and leaving the confusion and uneasy-ness of my 20 behind. I learned so much, and I am really excited to see what the rest of this decade has in store.

I think I am falling in love.....
Yeah, I might be falling in love with an industry that my never love me back. It's radio. I am hooked. I want to learn everything possible that you can do in radio and do it. I would love to do voice overs, commercials, production and DJ(ish). It's such a fickle and brutal industry, yet it's something that I get.
Recently I have been doing the board op duties for the Garden Compass Radio show. In San Diego you can hear it on AM 1700 here in SD or you can check it out online @ http://www.gardencompass.com/
I love what I do and the people I work with. Get your plant on!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I quit smoking for anyone who cares and I think it's one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can't even imagine myself as a smoker anymore and it's amazing! This is the first itme in my life that I have decided to quit smoking for myself. All I have done is used the nicotine patch and lots of prayer. It's funny because I have always been told that you can do anything if you bring God into the situation. I never really got it until I tried it. Anytime I have felt the need to go crazy and smoke a pack of cigarettes, I just say a quick prayer and the desire just goes away. I love it and it just makes me see how this verse is absolutely true:
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
It's something that I meditate all the time and it gives me hope when I know I can't do it on my own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Speaking of the Lord, I have commited to reading the entire Bible this year from start to finish. Right now I am in the Book of Judges. So far, it's been such a great read. God did some amazing things waaaaay back when. I sometimes wish I could get in a time machine and go and just watch everything unfold. For instance, I never really realized how many Jews that Moses lead through the Red Sea. It was hundreds of thousands of people. When you think about how many people that is, it's just astounding and shows how might God really is.
Another interesting bit of information to me is, how many rules that God gave to his people. Thank God for Christ or I would have been stoned by now. Man, if you haven't sat down and actually read the Bible cover to cover, I HIGHLY recommend it. I am using the Living Bible so that I don't get lost in the words and so that I understand it a little better. Try it out, there is a link to that Bible on my previous post if you want to check it out!

My life is on a totally new path...... more to come.......

It's about time
that I really start using my blogspot account. This is ridiculous. And yes, a few of my friends started blogging again, so I am a copy cat. If it bothers you that much, write a letter to management......... yeeesh.
So right at this very moment I am uploading CDs for my boyfriend to my computer, so he can upload them on his iPod. Some of the artisits include:
Pantera (I'm fine with)
P.O.S. (Hip hop that you really should listen too)
Living Legends (See above)
Sugar Ray (apparently they were once good)
Metallica ( meh =/)
White Zombie ( can't stand it!)
Beastie Boys ( the best!)
The Beavis and Butthead Soundtrack (he's a child of the 90s, what do you want)
One of the songs on the soundtrack is titled "Lesbian Seagull" and is sung by Ingleburt Humperdink. This maybe the greatest song title I have ever heard in my life. It's worthy of my Facebook status update.
******************************************************************************************************************************
I work in radio now, which is interesting and fun to say the least. It is such a trip that it took me this long to chase one of my lifelong dreams. I feel such a nerd gushing over it. I get paid crap, I have no medical benefits what-so-ever and I work really odd hours......... and I love it so much. I am really getting the hang of it and am really starting how to figure it all out. It;s like making art with audio. I just feel like I have finally found something that I might be good at.
The BEST part is that I am getting to work with a morning show that I have been following for about 4 years. At the same time I feel super guilty because it came about because the person doing this job was laid off. It's so conflicting! Helping out the show though is only temporary, but it is great to get some morning show experience. Other than that, I have starting to figure some things out about production and using audio. If you had told me this was going down a year ago, I would have never believed you at all.
It's also such a BRUTAL industry without a ton of security. I know it's worth the risk. To me, you can't put a price on this knowledge and experience and all the things it has the potential to lead to.
*******************************************************************************************************************************
I've decided to read the whole Bible this year. I am only 4 books in, but thank God I am not Jewish. The amount of rules and regulations would makes my head spin.
I think the ONLY reason that this is actually getting done is the fact that I am reading it via "The Living Bible". It is a kind of summarized version of the Bible, written in plain English. It is dope! If you want to check it out, it's on Amazon.com
